Frequently Asked Questions
Exactly what is an Escape Game?
–It’s a game where you have to escape from a locked room full of puzzles. You’ve got one hour on the clock to make your escape.
What if we don’t escape in time?
–In an event that you don’t make it out, you do become a part of our game forever… Just kidding! Our staff will come in, explain how to solve the remaining puzzles if you would like so that you’re not left hanging, and then you’re free!
You said “locked room”, am I really locked in?
–No! Fire Code prevents any exit door from physically hindering unrestricted egress. You are free to leave the puzzle room at any time during gameplay. Unfortunately, reentry is not fair to the other players but you may wait for your group in our lobby. In the event of an emergency, your host will be at the door to escort you to the safest exit.
How do I reserve my spot?
–You can make your reservation conveniently through our online calendar after choosing which game you want to try. Or give us a call at 334-446-7135 and speak to one of our staff. Book Here.
What if I want to bring children? How old do they have to be?
–There is no minimum age requirement, but ages 14 and above are recommended to play without an adult along. While we encourage families to come visit us and would not turn away anyone with children, our games do demand critical thinking and logic skills. A young child might not ‘get’ the puzzles and could detract from the team’s experience.
Do I need to make a reservation?
–Yes, all games require an advance reservation. If you would like to play the same day, please call us at 334-446-7135 to check the availability.
Are walk-ins allowed?
–If there’s availability! But it’s much safer to make a reservation in advance.
When should I make a reservation?
–As soon as you know your date and time you should book it. Our weekend slots fill up fast, especially if you are bringing a group. Your best bet is to book your whole group at once as the other slots may sell while waiting for the others to book.
How do I make a reservation?
–Use the ‘BOOK NOW’ button on our page to visit our online calendar on the booking page for detailed instructions. Or you can give us a call at 334-446-7135 and speak to one of our staff.
I made a reservation for my group of friends but we have another person who wanted to join last minute. Can they just come in with us?
–Please give us a call and check if there are any openings. The occupancy of our puzzle rooms are limited first by the Fire Marshall then by the layout of the puzzle. We’ll do our best to accommodate your group.
Only a couple of my friends agreed to get locked in with me. Can we still escape?
–Yes you can! Your group will be paired with another group for the same booking time. Your team will have a better chance of escaping with a larger group.
What if I only want to play with my friends and family?
–If you want to make it a guaranteed private game, you would need to purchase all the slots available for that specific game.
I would like to have a birthday party or team building event at Escape Dothan. Do you have a party room?
–We have a large meeting room available by reservation. This is normally only available on weekdays but please call us at 334-446-7135 or email us to book an exclusive event. You can contact us here. We have a small kitchenette if you wish to have your event catered.
Are any of the games scary?
–No, the puzzle rooms we have built are not frightening.
Something came up and we can’t make it for our reservation. What do we do?
–Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. We’re unable to offer refunds due to scheduling conflicts but rescheduling can be processed up to 24 hours before your slated mission starts. If you have any specific questions or concerns, feel free to give us a call at 334-446-7135 during business hours or email us through our contact page here.
What are your business hours?
–We are open from Friday through Sunday, and our hours range from 9 AM to 12 AM depending on the day. To book a room time, click Here.
Do I need to print out my confirmation email or my tickets?
–The person making the reservation should have a photo ID available and be able to vouch for their group. Your name will be in our queue so an ID or confirmation email will suffice.
Where is Escape Manor located?
–We’re located at 3759 Ross Clark Circle Suite 1, Dothan, Alabama. That’s between Montgomery Highway and Denton Road. Look for Bondy’s Ford’s huge American flag, then the US Post Office. We’re on the same service road used for the USPS. Watch for our logo above the front door.
How’s the parking?
–There’s ample parking available in the front and rear of the building. There are 2 handicapped parking spaces–one in front, one in rear–both with ramp access to the building.
When should we plan to arrive?
–Please arrive and check in at our front desk 15 minutes before your game officially starts. That way you have time to sign in, use the restroom, stow your phone and watch a short scenario video.
How long is the game?
–The game itself is 60 minutes (or less if your team does great). Please try to arrive 15 minutes before your game starts, and allow for an extra 15 minutes after for pictures and just in case there are any questions. In short, prepare for about 90 minutes.
Is there a dress code?
–Whatever you feel comfortable walking around in! You’ll be moving around as you look for your clues but there is no climbing, crawling or running required.
I like to document everything I experience. Can I take pictures?
–Of course, but only in our waiting room. There is no photography or videography allowed inside the games. We want to make sure the mysteries are kept secret so everyone who comes has fun!
But I like taking selfies…
–We’ve got an abundance of props and signs in the waiting room to have a photo session with. There are no selfies or pictures allowed inside our games.
